3 Ways to Finding Free Wi-Fi When on a Holiday

Finding Wi-Fi has become easier than ever over the past ten years. The best about it is that it’s completely free of cost too.

All you need to do, and similar to finding a restroom, is knowing where to look for it.

That said, here are 3 places where you can find free Wi-fi:

#1: McDonalds or Starbucks

If you are in a sparsely populated area, then a McDonald’s at the end of the interstate off-ramp might be the best way to do so. Almost 11500 of its outlets offer free Wi-Fi which, in some cases, you can find in the parking lot itself.

Yet it must be pointed out that one can also find the same at almost 7000 Starbucks outlets along most interstates and freeways.

#2: Cable company hotspots

With almost 150000 hotspots across the country, it can be safely said that there are a number of them you can choose from when traveling. Best part: five of the biggest cable companies pooled their resources together so that their customers could use any of these hotspots. If you are a subscriber of Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, Comcast, Cablevision or Bright House Networks, all you have to do is log in using your account credentials.

#3: Motels and hotels

Another place to find free Wi-Fi is at motels and hotels where you just have to enter  the parking lot in order to avail of the network that they have left unprotected since they are, after all, in the business of selling convenience. Others might require a password but all you have to do is ask them nicely. One decent way by which you can get the password is by mentioning that you depend on mapping software to get where you are going.
