2 Ways to Changing Users in Windows 8

If you share your PC with someone else, you’d know that it’s faster to log off your account and into another one rather rebooting your system.

Unfortunately, with Windows 8, you won’t find it where experienced Windows users will be used to finding this option. The reason for this is because Microsoft decided to make things easier for those who are just beginning to use Windows while failing to consider everybody else.

If that’s not enough, “Log Off” is now known as “Sign Off” along with a number of things that they’ve renamed as well making Windows 8 a completely new experience for seasoned Windows users.

In addition, you won’t find a common option known by experienced Windows users as ‘Switch user’. Only now, the users’ names are placed for one to switch back and forth from.

Yet most of all, you won’t find these options in the Power section but at the user icon.

So, all you have to do is look for your name and picture in the top-right corner of the Start screen and when you click it, you’ll find other user accounts, if you do share the computer with other people.

Of course, the existing account (which you exited from) will stay open so that you can switch back whenever you want.

There’s one catch, however: you’ll have to enter your password.

There’s another way of switching to another person’s account and that would be by clicking your name or picture and selecting ‘Sign Out’. You’ll be asked to sign in as another user.
