How You Can Convert a PDF File into a Readable Format for Your Kindle

It’s well-known fact that if you use a Kindle for reading: it not only supports PDFs but also e-books too.

For those who don’t know this, if you want to read a PDF document, all you have to do is send the PDF document to a specific email address found in the Kindle’s Settings area.

However, since it arrives in exactly the same way as it was sent, reading a PDF on a Kindle is difficult if not unreadable in certain circumstances. You’ll have to do a lot of scrolling and zooming since this is static text that has not been optimized for Kindle.

With that said, Amazon can actually help deal with this problem by converting a PDF file into raw text. This can be done when you add the word ‘convert’ to the subject line of the aforementioned email.

But there are a couple of caveats: first, it will take time for this file conversion to take place. In some cases, even if they are about a couple of pages, it will still take an hour or two to be converted.

Secondly, it won’t work with every PDF file, as some of them would end being unreadable as well. It’s better to use Calibre in order to convert these stubborn files instead especially if the output isn’t as you’d want.

However, if you’re not close to a computer or for some reason, you aren’t allowed to install software, then you have no choice but to use the earlier option that Amazon provides.
