IT Maintenance and Cooling

When most people think of AC, they only consider the kind we use to keep our homes cool and make living bearable in the warm summer months (or perhaps even year round). However, there’s more to air conditioning than just keeping people cool. Many computer systems rely on air conditioning systems to ensure they don’t overheat and malfunction.

Although computers make our lives much easier, they also use a lot of energy in the process. All this electricity, in turn, creates substantial increases in temperature. Each system has its own breaking point for when the temperature gets so hot the hardware no longer works.

The obvious solution, fortunately, is nothing more than portable a/c units. They work to counteract the increase in temperature and thereby keep computer hardware cool and thus working.

It takes specialized machines to do this though. You can’t simply wheel in any old portable ac unit, because all kinds of problems can occur. Many don’t just cool the air, they add moisture to it and, in doing so, water damage restoration can be needed later to fix your hardware (if that’s even an option).

So if you or your company relies on a lot of hardware to function, make sure you have ac units working to maintain and cool them.
