How to Set up Google Chrome the Ideal Way

Without a doubt, Google Chrome is one of the most popular browsers on the internet today apart from Internet Explorer.

Some of the reasons for this include an integration with Google Services, being a popular app platform and a large extension catalog.

Yet there’s an ideal way of setting it up much like Firefox. Here’s how you can do this:

1: Sync Data

Chrome can sync all your data using a Google account. For this, type chrome://settings into the address bar and then click “Sign in to Chrome” which is located under the Sign in heading. A pop-up window opens which gives you the option to either sign into your Google account or to create a new one.

After you’ve signed in, then select Advanced sync settings located under Sign in. This option will allow you to sync whatever you want across your devices be it apps, bookmarks, extensions, history, passwords and auto-fill data too. Now, uncheck what you don’t want and click OK.

Chrome makes it very simple for you to collect bookmarks from other browsers. For this, click the ‘hamburger’ menu item and then to Bookmarks>Import Bookmarks and settings. This opens a new pop-up window in a fresh tab. What you will see is a drop-down list of all the browser that you’ve installed on your computer. Now, select the browser and click Import. You’re finished. One more thing: you can import bookmark from an HTML file too.

3: Extensions

There are a number of extensions that one can use with Chrome. Some of these include Hangouts, Vimium, TunnelBear and Mute Tab Shortcuts. These are but a few given the number of extensions that Chrome offer. If you’re looking for more, then visit the Chrome Web Store.
