Google Maps on Android now have multi-stop support

technetnews1One of the biggest issues with Google Maps on Android was the lack of multi stop capability. This is the ability to have more than one destination for navigation. Although available on the web version of Google Maps, mobile apps have not had this feature for some time.

The way it works is that Android users can enter a destination and tap the corner menu and select “Add a stop”.

In order to get get multi-stop directions in Google Maps on Android, open the app, enter a destination, tap the corner menu, and then click “Add a stop”. You can also change the order of your stops by tapping and holding the three dot menu to the left of “Add stop”. Then drag the stop to the position you want. When finished, tap “Done” and your multi-stop route is ready.

For a long time this was only available on the web version of Google Maps, which is why a lot of users first plot their roots and stops and then send it their phone. Another feature that is still missing from the app version of Google Maps is the ability to specify arrival times. Google Maps then tells you what the best time to leave in order to arrive at your destination on time. Now that multi stop has been added, this could be next.

This feature has been a long time coming and now that it has been a long time coming. Now that it has launched on Android we can expect an iOS release soon.
